weekend get-away

This past weekend we rented a huge lake house with several of our friends. Most of them are friends from school that we work with and their families. I think there were 17 of us total. Each family took a turn with cooking a meal for the rest of us. We were up first Saturday night and made chili for the gang along with some corn bread.

The girls were thrilled that their friend Grace was there. And of course her little brother, Ryne. Isn't he the cutest?!

I love those blue eyes, the little tongue and the banana smoothie mustache. He was really into that smoothie.

In fact, Dave's smoothie was a hit with all the kids!

Except poor Reese who missed out because of her nap. :(

Ryne couldn't wait for Reese to wake up so he had someone his own size to play with.

Cheers to friends and smoothies! Reese and Ryne spent most of their time walking from window to window or door to door talking to the kitty that stayed close by.

Ryne kept giving Reese hugs, but of course as soon as I grabbed my camera to get a quick picture of it, Reese wanted no more.

At one point, Ryne had Reese pushed up against the wall with his arms around her so she couldn't get away. ;) We'll have to keep our eye on the 2 of them.

The kids really had lots of fun running around the huge house, playing toys, watching movies and jumping on the mattress we had on the floor. It was like their own playhouse.

The adults had fun eating, playing board games, talking, laughing, cooking, watching dvd's, playing rock band along with a little wii and more eating.

We saw a few people out on the lake ice skating and sledding around.

We had such a great time and can't wait to do it again! Thanks friends!
